The Human Factor : Drawings (1961 - 2005) by Petar Tale

Janet Wilson M.A.

Tale is a modern master of the art of drawing. During his working life he has produced well over 4000 drawings. Both as an end in itself and preparation for other work, the foundation of Tale’s creativity has always been drawing. While rooted in the Western tradition what is so compelling about Tale’s drawings is their distinctive individuality within an entirely modernist sensibility.

Some examples of the range and diversity of Tale’s drawings are shown here with accompanying observations to aid the viewer focus on specific characteristics. Click on images below. A more comprehensive selection of drawings may be seen in the book ‘The Art of Petar Tale’. All the drawings on view are owned by the Tale Art Museum.
